Futon Man Policies
Shipping, Returns and Product Warranties
All products sold by Futon Man, in store or online at Futonman.com, are covered by their respective Manufacturer's Warranty. What is covered and the terms of these Warranties vary, and are detailed below by manufacturer.
Qualified Non-Warranty returns are at the discretion of Futonman.com and are subject to re-stocking fees. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
All returns require a Return Authorization (RMA), obtained by contacting Futon Man prior to return of the product. No exceptions.
- Orders are shipped by the most cost effective method, most often via FedEx Ground.
- Products may ship from multiple locations, and may not all arrive on the same day.
- Inpect each shipment immediately upon receipt for possible shipping damage.
- If any package is damaged, notify Futon Man immediately and save all packaging material for inspection and possible return of damaged product.
Frames and Accessories
Qualified Futon frames and accessories are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. Futon Man does not accept non-Warranty returns for any wood product that has been removed from the shipping carton. A Return Authorization (RMA) must be obtained prior to the return.
Any returned item must be in the original packaging, with packaging in ship-able condition. Immediately upon receipt, carefully open the box and inspect without braking the protective bands, or removing any parts. If you then decide you want to return the product, contact Futon Man for an RMA within 30 days of receipt of product.
Custom futon covers, or odd sized covers cannot be returned.
Qualified Stock futon covers are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. Alternatively, a stock cover may be returned for an In-Store Credit and the restocking fee will be waived.
All returned covers must be in saleable condition: unused and in the original product packaging. Immediately upon receipt, carefully open the shipping carton and inspect the cover without removing from the protective packaging. If you then decide you want to return the product, contact Futon Man for an RMA within 30 days of receipt of product.
Futon Man does not accept returns on futon mattresses.
Manufacturer Warranty Information
Night and Day Furniture Futon Frames
Night and Day Furniture warranties all frames for workmanship and materials.
"Night and Day Furniture warrants to the consumer, who makes the original purchase of Night and Day Furniture products, a limited warranty against defects in the material or workmanship of furniture components. Night and Day Furniture will repair or replace any piece of furniture, which is defective in material or workmanship. As used in this warranty, defects are defined as meaning imperfections in components, which substantially impair the usability of the product."
The Premium and Standard collections are warranteed for 10 years. The Rattan Floral and Seasons Oak collections are warranteed for 5 years, as is the economical Trinity frame.
Warranty claims must be presented in writing to Futon Man. Futon Man will then contact Night & Day Furniture on your behalf. It may be necessary for Night & Day Furniture to inspect the item in question to determine whether or not a manufacturing defect exists.
SIScovers Futon Covers
SIScovers guarantees all products on workmanship and materials for life:
If you experience a problem with workmanship or materials on any SIScovers futon cover, immediately notify Futon Man for a return authorization (RMA). An RMA is required for all returns.
You will receive a replacement cover in a timely fashion: Futon Man will have your damaged cover picked up and, once received by the manufacturer, a replacement cover will be sent.
If you want or need the replacement as soon as possible, you have the option of providing Futon Man with your credit card information as security:
- A replacement cover will be shipped right away, along with the return shipping label, (the manufacturer pays the return shipping on defective covers.)
- Place the defective cover in the same shipping box, affix the shipping label and return immediately.
- Your credit card will only be charged for the replacement in the event the defective cover is not returned.
Futon Man Mattresses
Futon Man manufactures our own line of futon mattresses: The Fatty, The Fatty Tri-Fold, The Supreme, The Supreme Tri-fold, and The Basic. All Futon Man mattresses are waranteed on workmanship, seams, tufts, and zippers for the effective life of the mattress. Normal wear and tear, abuse or damage is not covered. Shipping to Futon Man for warranty service is the responsibility of the customer.
The effective life of a futon mattress varies with care and use. A mattress that is kept in a dry environment, on a slatted frame (so the mattress can breath,) and rotated on a regular basis will have a much longer effective life than one which is not. A good mattress pad/cover can also extend the life of the mattress. A mattress which sees use daily as a sofa and bed, for example, will have a shorter effective life than one used less frequently. With proper care and medium use, it is not uncommon for a Futon Man mattress to still be comfortable and in good condition after 10 years. On the other hand, the futon mattress may need to be replaced or restuffed after only 5 years of heavy, daily use.
Due to high quality materials and construction, Futon Man mattresses can be restuffed. The sturdy canvas cover has a heavy-weight zipper which allows the inner materials to be removed and replaced with new materials. This is a service which Futon Man provides and is less costly than purchasing a new futon mattress.
